This easy gingerbread recipe will satisfy your sweet tooth in no time!
Ingredients:
– 3 cups wholewheat flour
– ½ teaspoon of ground ginger
– ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon
– ¼ teaspoon sea salt
– ½ cup of honey
– ¾ cup of softened butter
– 1 teaspoon baking soda
– 2 quail eggs
Mix the ginger, cinnamon, flour, baking soda and salt and set aside. Beat the butter and honey with an electric mixer until well light and well mixed. Add the eggs. Switch to low speed and gradually add the flour mixture.
Press the dough to ¼-inch thickness, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate until next day.
Lightly flour your work surface, roll out the dough. Preheat the oven to 365 degrees F. Cut out cookies with your favorite cutter, gingerbreadman and hearts are my favorites 😉
Place on ungreased baking sheets and bake for 7 minutes. After cooled, decorate as desired. Store in airtight container for up to 10 days. The honey will keep them soft and fresh.
